Governor’s Office Announces Amendments to the San Andreas Penal Code Regarding Firearm Regulations

San Andreas – The Office of the Governor, in coordination with state lawmakers and law enforcement agencies, has enacted amendments to the San Andreas Penal Code concerning firearm regulations, specifically addressing protocols for individuals carrying concealed weapons and the responsibilities of licensed gun owners during law enforcement interactions.

The newly revised provisions, 2500.04(b) and 2500.03(b), aim to enhance public safety, ensure accountability, and streamline procedures for lawful firearm possession in the state.

Under the amended Penal Code Section 2500.04(b):

  • Individuals carrying a concealed firearm must inform law enforcement officers of both the presence and location of the weapon when stopped for a traffic violation.
  • Officers may take temporary possession of the firearm and the weapons license for verification purposes. If the firearm is legally registered and the license is valid, the officer must return the weapon and license at the conclusion of the stop.

Additionally, under the revised Penal Code Section 2500.03(b):

  • Any individual carrying a firearm must provide a valid weapons license upon request by a peace officer.
  • Failure to produce a valid license will result in a felony charge. If the individual does possess a valid license but fails to present it, they may face suspension or revocation of their permit.

These changes reinforce the state’s commitment to responsible firearm ownership while supporting law enforcement in their efforts to maintain public safety.

The Governor’s Office urges all firearm owners and concealed carry permit holders to familiarize themselves with these updated regulations to avoid penalties and ensure compliance with state law.

Governor Lincoln Stalworth signed this new amendment effective immediately.
