Obituary: Lloyd Mclain (54)

Lloyd McLain, aged 54, passed away on January 21, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and cherished memories. He was a beloved brother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Born on February 19, 1970, in Dillimore, Lloyd spent his formative years working alongside his family on their farm. Instead of attending school, his father believed he would learn more by helping out at home—a decision that shaped Lloyd into the devoted farmer he became. His love for the land, his cows, and the simple joys of farm life defined him. Whether tending to the farm, driving trucks, or sharing stories with his brothers, Lloyd always found joy in the everyday moments.

Lloyd had a special fondness for cow tipping on neighboring farms and hauling loads of stone in his truck. He took great pride in his work and was always eager to offer guidance, support, and encouragement to those around him. In his spare time, he enjoyed the camaraderie of his brothers and friends, and he was a Premium Elite Member of the Yellow Jack, a title he held with pride.

Lloyd is survived by his loving brothers, Chuck McLain and Rodney McLain, along with many dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held at The Boathouse in Sandy Shores on Saturday, January 25, at 8:00 PM EST, followed by funeral services at The Church on Route 68 (Postal 610), officiated by Caleb Montgomery.

Lloyd’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
