LOS SANTOS, SA 一 A tragic shooting took place on Thursday morning (July 18th, 2024) at approximately 00:30 EST, which left Senior Police Officer David Lee (Badge; 1392) in critical condition. The shooting occurred at the off-ramp of [720] US Route 15 // Senora RD. The suspect is currently outstanding and believed to be highly dangerous, potentially with a group of people.
Expert Medical examiners at Pillbox Medical Center will be closely monitoring Officer Lee’s condition for the next several days, following what is being called a “near-fatal shooting”. The investigation concluded the possibility of an “ambush” used to free a suspect in the back of Senior Police Officer David Lee’s patrol vehicle; as they were being transported to Bolingbroke Penitentiary following an arrest.
Investigators at the scene found evidence suggesting that Officer Lee drove over a spike strip that popped his tires, and disabled his vehicle. A single shotgun shell was found approximately six feet to the northwest of the patrol vehicle. Investigators evaluated the trajectory of the projectiles, which appeared to have entered Officer Lee’s driver-side window. Due to Officer Lee’s condition, the Police Department has been unable to take a statement to confirm the events of Thursday morning.
During the investigation, San Andreas Highway Patrol officials shut down the off-ramp, diverting incoming traffic to the Union Road entrance of East Joshua Road. This detour resulted in minimal inconvenience for drivers on early Thursday morning for nearly an hour and a half. The off-ramp has since been opened, and normal traffic patterns have resumed.
